Welcome to Spring!

Can you believe it is finally spring?  While we have enjoyed the latest roller coaster Mother Nature has curated for New England, to be on the other side of the snow season is a relief for our golfing friends.  Spring is also the start of our growing season and the beginning of our transformation at the Brookline Golf Course.  In my previous letters, I have spent a considerable time sharing why the next 12-15 months will be incredible for our golf course. Today I want to focus on some other aspects of the golf course.  Additionally, I want to thank you for joining our Email Club – we appreciate your patronage and partnership.

Our Golf Course Landscape Master Plan Design Review Committee has been busily listening and reviewing the existing conditions of the property, as well as collecting feedback through our golfer and resident survey.  The Committee has one more meeting scheduled on April 13th before a preliminary master plan is presented by our design team, led by renowned golf course architect, Mark Mungeam.  To follow along with meeting dates, minutes, and presentations, please visit the “Master Plan” section on our website.

One of the great opportunities that U.S. Open is providing is in-kind construction projects on our golf course.  Our Landscape Master Plan Committee worked with our golf course architect, Mark Mungeam, to determine what projects would best provide the greatest return on this investment.  While this isn’t completely finalized yet, the concepts that came out of committee were the following: several new forward tees, several existing tees being releveled and regrassed, a new rear tee, and the initial phase of an annual fairway turf program.  We are truly excited about these concepts and will be sharing more details as they are finalized through the final design steps.

This edition of Putterham Times will also begin to share some behind-the-scenes insights into our continuous culture of improvement and hospitality.  I hope you enjoy the video as we share information about our hospitality and the people who are creating this culture.  We look forward to continuing this through these newsletters and on our social channels.

In closing, as I touched on above, our culture and people are the backbone of everything we do at the golf course, and we are looking to add individuals who share that same passion.  Whether it’s caring for our beloved golf course, being a steward of hospitality in golf services, or delivering a great food and beverage experience with our friends at Hemlock Grill, we have positions available across the entire operation.  For those who wish to inquire about these specific opportunities, please visit our website.

Thank you again for your patronage and please remember… The best is yet to come!
