RECAP OF OUR 2ND ANNUAL HARVEST FEST!

By November 11, 2022December 1st, 2022No Comments

Happy Veteran’s Day to all the Veterans. Thank you for your service.

Please enjoy the short video below showcasing our 2nd Annual Harvest Fest!

Thank you to all the members of the community who came to the golf course to enjoy this event.  We had over 200 people enjoy the first edition of the Harvest Fest 5k and 1k, and in the afternoon we had over 500 people attend the main Harvest Fest event.  This year we brought back the hay ride, added some great live music, and enjoyed perhaps some of the best possible weather for November.  Thank you to all of our community partners for helping make this event truly a success: Brookline Recreation, Brookline Police Department, Brookline Department of Public Works, Parks and Open Space, and Brookline Water Department.  If you missed it, don’t miss it next year!

This week, we also learned that we have received the 2022 Environmental Excellence Award from the American Society of Golf Course Architects. We are one of 5 golf courses worldwide to receive such distinction for the work we have already done, and plan to do as part of our Landscape Master Plan.  We are truly humbled to be nominated and bestowed such recognition.

The leaves have almost all come down at this point and now we are transitioning from the fall season to the winter.  Please be aware the last day to post your score in the GHIN system will be November 14th; beyond that date score posting will be inactive until spring time.  Also, don’t forget to come over on Monday mornings to enjoy some walking, running, and dog walking, as the golf course will continue to be closed to golfers.  Just please stay off any frosty areas and clean up any trash generated during your walkabout.  This winter, we are preparing for our inaugural Nordic program. We have purchased a snow mobile and a groomer, which we will use when we have snow to groom cross country ski and snow shoe trails, and possibly sledding slopes.  While we are saddened by the end of golf season, we are excited for the holiday and winter seasons ahead.

I hope you and your family have a warm and joyous holiday season!
