Putterham officially reopened all 18 holes on July 4th after the completion of a 9-month course enhancement and drainage improvement project. Following the Landscape Master Plan, the project team, led by golf course architects Mark Mungeam and Tim Gerrish, executed the largest improvement to the drainage capability of the golf course since the course opened in 1933. The project included redesigning, expansion, and dredging of existing creeks, daylighting 1,500′ of culverts, and the installation of another 1,000′ of subterranean drainage pipe to help process and store stormwater on the property.
The experience for golfers will be a dramatic improvement, with drier, more consistent conditions throughout the course, and throughout the season. The course itself is more challenging and visually stunning, with a new water feature between holes 7 and 8. One of the exciting aspects of the project involves the creation of habitat areas supporting an influx of wildlife. We hope to see you enjoying the course in the near future!
